      ReguLATION 19/22 Consultation

      The Local Plan Regulation 19 report was approved at the full council meeting on December 2024, the report included five sites on green belt land. A travesty of democracy, despite hundreds of objections. The consultation ended in February 2025.

      The Regulation 22 consultation started in March 2025 with submission of the report and support documents to inspector.The Examination phase Stage 1 completed on 28th August. Stage 2 ended on 10th October 2025.

      Petition – Excessive Targets for New Homes

      The petition raised by Ewell Green Belt group is to persuade UK Government to review and adjust the target for new homes in every borough in Surrey and other counties in South East England. There are 1,200 signatures so far, but many more are required. Other petitions have been raised , on local and national issues.

      Consultation on the Local Plan

      Epsom & Ewell Borough Council decided to approve the updated Local Plan at a meeting of the full council in December 2024, despite strong opposition to development of green belt sites. After a second consultation, the report was submitted to the Inspector in march 2025. The Examination Phase endED on 10th October. Updates have been requested by the Inspector
